Big congratulations to our member Richard Titchener who will be presented with an MBE in the King's Birthday Honours list, in recognition of his unfaltering dedication to his work with disadvantaged young people and to the community in Essex.

He and fellow MLSC member Hils Halajko set up the charitable trust Sea-Change in 2007. They commissioned their beautiful Blue Mermaid barge in 2019 - a perfect replica of one of the last Thames Sailing Barges to be built. She now takes groups of people on residential trips which gives these individuals essential life skills as part of her crew.
