Following the introduction of the new Covid-19 lockdown regulations, it is with a heavy heart that I have to confirm the MLSC bar and clubhouse will be closed from 5th November.
We very much hope that the lockdown will end in early December, and we will resume bar openings as soon as it is possible and safe to do so. We will of course let you know as soon as we have information to share on this.
At this time, in accordance with instructions our RYA Day Skipper short course will continue on Zoom and our Day Skipper traditional course will pause until face to face teaching can resume. No VHF training courses will be scheduled until at least February '21.
Since we re-opened the clubhouse at the beginning of August, our bar team and all of those who work behind the scenes in the club, have succeeded in providing us with superb service in a safe environment, even with the increased workload introduced by table only service.
I'd like to thank Steve and everyone involved in the bar for their fantastic efforts, and also all of you who have been able to support the bar over the last 3 months.
As we enter this new period of lockdown I know that all of you in our big MLSC family will be looking out for each other, and I encourage you to do this even more so now as winter draws on. If any of you do find yourself in need of help for any reason, please do reach out to one of us.
Although the usual Remembrance Day services will not be taking place this year, a Poppy Appeal wreath has been laid on behalf of the MLSC at the memorial in Maldon and a donation made to the Royal British Legion.
I look forward to seeing you all soon.
