| The Clubhouse built circa 1810, is a Grade 2 listed, old, timber framed building, facing the River
Blackwater on Maldon's historic Hythe, which is home to many Thames Barges. For some years the
building housed a blacksmith's forge. Near derelict, it was purchased by the Members in 1959 since when
extensive interior modernisation has been carried out. The Clubhouse now has a comfortable lounge, a licensed bar, a telephone, a galley and a function room on the upper deck capable of seating up to eighty people. The Club has a convivial bar which is normally open on Wednesday and Friday evenings and at lunch-time on Saturdays and Sundays. The bar is also open during evening social functions. A full social programme is arranged during the winter months. The Clubhouse is available for members private functions by arrangement. | |||||||||||||
